snappy tool box im look....... MORE PICS!

Got it for $2800. Rented a uhaul and picked it up this morning. That was fun. Didn't die or dent the box. The ramp was 3/4" wider than the wheels, and apparently sturdier than I thought.

It needs a lot of cleaning. There is a lot of overspray on it.

The best part? There where tools in the Locked drawers. Not a bunch. But probably $400-500 worth. I'm stoked!

AWESOME! the extra tools are a major score to off set the cost. NICE! I'm stoked for you brother!! :waytogo: :saweet:

I love my KRL's too :D. These are pictures before I cleaned up. Looks much better now.

The blue 2 bay is missing its CK5 sticker!:waytogo:

I have tool box envy. I need another one. Mine is a Classic 96 slam full. Eventually I want to sell it & replace it with a pair of Blue KRL's, a 1023 & a 1032.

Actually it does have a CK5 sticker, the new CK5 logo infact. The oval one on the center of the big drawer. :D

When I got my big 3 bank box it was a used deal. My Snappy guy had my exact box on his truck for a long time. I always drooled over it when I would go on his truck to buy more crap and of course pay my bill. One day he said hay I think I have your box you want (the same one on his truck) for a great deal. He said the guy who ownes it has had it only 9 or 10 months and we are taking it back in as a warenty issue. Only problem is the paint is flaking off on the front very bottom edge due to the cleaning crew spraying down the dealership mechanics bays when they scrub the floors and a little bit of water has been splashed on it causing the edge to lightly rust and is causing the paint to flake off.

This box new at the time was almost $9K. He said the guy owed $4500 on it so we can only sell it for that much. I asked if I could go take a look at it, he said sure. So I did. I took out the bottom drawers since the box was then empty and inside was like new clean. I looked under it and it was like new clean. It was only the leading edge of the sheet metal where it was a bit sharp where paint does not build up as thick as it does on a flat surface. That edge started to rust and flake the paint so the guy said hay I want a new box, so they honered their warenty without question. And I got a $9K box for $4500.

I financed it and still paid it off with less then $500 intrest so it was paid for @ under $5K. THAT is a score. Now, My box only has the single deep top drawer full width. At the time it was the latest model and I had no choice, it was that box and only that box at that price, it was too good to pass up so I took it. The new boxes were just coming out, so the original owner asked if he could pay the difference for the newer model with the two top drawers full width. Snap On said no problem so he got the new model. My box has the same warenty less paint coverage since they already warentied it for paint.

As you can see my two smaller boxes do have the two top full width drawers. Which I love that option.

got all mine with tool deals if you purchased so much . and full locker i got for 900 bucks off craigslist. its a 3300 doller locker new.

deals are out there. for ashort time i had a trade in 4-5 month old classic 96 loved it but then said why not and traded back minus zero out of pocket and got the one i have now new.

paid 1 year or so on truck then got home equity loan paid it off and saved over 5k in interest payments and lower bill per month almost 70 bucks.

Well. Since I had to work 4 hrs. On Christmas eve, I spent 4 hrs cleaning the beast. It looks 5 times better. I got all but 1 drawer slide fixed. Found that the lock for the upper box drawers didn't work because there was a bunch of paper stuffed in it.

I found all sorts of crazy stuff in it. Tools, paperwork, cell phone bills from the 90s. Car phone insruction manuals from the 80s. We had a good time sifting threw all the stuff.
All I need now is 1 drawer slide, 5 lock cylinders, and some touch up paint. I do have a couple of dents to fix. But nothing too bad. I need to get some pics.

have the snap-on guy check and see if you can converte to the newer locks. thay are key alike and can be ordered that way same #'s . also thay change out easy if you ever wana rekey later to diff #'s

i love the new style bullit key locks thay are nice. :D

our strap-on guy is a douche, we deal with matco and mac. one of our techs just bought a new matco box, retailed at $10K he got it for $6K with premium drawer liners, a free cart, and the rest of us all got free boobie coffee cups :waytogo:

our matco guy was a douche. he went to jail for having somebody steal and burn down his tool truck.

our mac guy is a friend of mine. i get my tools from him. i usually get 10% off normal.

it has these lock cylinders that takes the round keys. (not my box, it loooks better than that)

images

then thats good. if you dont have the key its easy to drill the center out with a good bit and then pop the rest out and install just a new gut with a key.

had to do that to my 1 locker i got used guy had key but forgot to give to me and he was 1.5hr away drive.

4 of the locks have the same number on them. I can get a key for those I guess. Then only need to get a new cylinder for the one I already I have a key for. I'm slow. Just realized that

I recommend getting some CK5 stickers. It will make your box much faster and increase the value ten fold :D. Where's the pics of the loot left in the box and it cleaned up? :dunno:  :D

I will take some pics tomorrow while I'm at work. I'm having a problem loading pics that I have taken with my phone.

I Need some ck5 stickers. But I don't like stickers on my tool boxes. Think they would look out of place on my jeep?

I don't like stickers on my tool boxes.

x2 :waytogo:

my nice clean box has 3 non stock thats it.

BIG old AC/DC sticker took me over 3 years to figure out what to put there.

my snap-on offered ( this tool box is custom built for XXXXXX ) when you purchased it new .

and a GMC emblme off a 07-up truck/suv my buddy saved me from a de-badge job he did .

I always stick magnet material to the back of emblems, and then put them on my Snap On box, so they are removable.
