Wow, Esteban, those look SO KEWL!!!! I'm very jealous right now... may plot a theft in the near future... No. No I'm not. Really. Hey, if those just up and disappeared one day, it wasn't me. You hear me? It wasn't me!!!
Thanks for the comments guys and gals. I'm still painting the other rims so I will hopefully get them all mounted and put on the truck by this weekend.
The arrow is actually an upside down sticker that says "this side up" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And Pam, if your winch just "HAPPENS" to disappear, it wasn't me....REALLY!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
just a weird question from a hummer rim noob... why are the bolts that stick out of the face of the rims so long? in the pic it looks like they stick out an inch or so past the end of the nuts...
In order to squeeze the tire down with the rim laying on it's side, the bolts have to be that long to get the nuts started! THere is no way you are going to set the bead on both sides of the tire before the nuts go on! The bolts actually pull the rim into the tire and set the bead! That's why they are so long! They're actually perfect, any shorter and you would never get the ring on with a new tire!
oh ok, i thought it might be something like that but i wasnt sure cause lots of beadlocks have their rings further out and the bolts are counter-sunk etc. thx for the info,
Batman hit it right on the money. But in my case I installed the PVC beadlocks from USA6X6 so I don't need such a long bolt. I'm contemplating cutting them down a bit so they won't become rock feelers.
You could always run them inside out!!! But you would have to have a way to get to the nuts on the inside of the ring.....! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
