Resident Problem Child
Ray I've got some Hedmans in the basement next to the Vortecs and the Air Gap so I won't be choking it out. Trying just those without the cam is tempting, all I'd lose is intake gaskets if I decided to go back in with a new cam. I'd really love to know what the owner had put in there without pulling it for numbers.
Root I agree, I probably wouldn't bother with used now, if my bud had got the whole setup from the vortec donor I would have but not random used stuff. I'm still leaning towards flat tappet to keep the parts list down. I'm going to err on the side of caution with the max lift too,Vortecs don't seem to need lots of lift to make decent power. The heads did come with the self aligning rockers but will my stock rods work?
