To all of you planning on going up to Big Bear next weekend for a snow run, here is the latest. We will be meeting at WalMart at the bottom of the hill (just like in the old posts). I was up last weekend, and they had a few feet of snow! They got a little more this week, and according to the weather reports, they expect a wet week next week! We should be seeing even more snow shortly! So, this means FUN!! It also means we will need to be prepared! Shovels, chains, tow straps, winches and cold weather gear will be at a premium! Also, just in case you didn't see my last post on the old thread, please keep the presence of our 4 Wheel & Off Road editor hush-hush. Forest service seems to think they should gain from this, so Mr Kennedy would appreciate a low key presence until we get out on trail!

I can hardly wait! Only one more week, hope everyone has their trucks in gear and ready to go! I am sure we will be posting updates this week!

I can't wait either. I'm looking at the back side of Arrowhead and Big Bear right now and the swow is melting. I was driving around today and thought I bkock my 10bolt, so I was planning on throwing in the 14bff this weekend. But as it turns out, every thing is OK. I am getting my Forest Adventure Pass tomorrow. See ya all there.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it. My k5 is still in the shop waiting for a transfer case, a grille, and some headlights. I called today, but the guy wasn't there, so I'll have to call on monday to see what the scoop is. Hope to see you there.

As much as it pains me to say it, I won't be going either. I was really excited about going, and the prospect of my truck in 4Wheel was cool, but I am thinking about selling my Blazer, so I don't want to run the risk of damaging it.
I'm selling it with the intent of getting a K5 afterwards, so don't feel to bad for me. Thanks.

Blazen91,

Any list of people that ARE still going? Count me in for sure. But I won't have my brother's Jeep with me, my brother has some medical problems that won't let him up in the mountains right now. Plus, I will be meeting your group in Running Springs Saturday morning, as I will be going up to our cabin Friday night. Hope more people can make it still...supposed to get a little bit more snow this week.

All I know of for sure is :
kpanza
coopertwpk
me(one way or the other)and maybe a guy from work
kennedy
and I'm sorry, I cann't remember his name, but a guy I spoke to on the phone from ck5(he has a winch)
If we can get all who are going to put up a post, it would be great help. I will repost the map.

THIS WILL BE FUN!!

Take the 15 north to the 10 west to the 30 north. When you see the 330 turn off to Running Springs, go north to the Highland off ramp and turn left. You can't miss it. It is right at the end of Boulder. I'm not 100% it's a Walmart, but it is a shopping center.

Come on Guys,
I need more people to show up for the Big Bear Trail ride. Please!?!?
I'll have 4WOR stickers and license plates for everyone that shows up, and you run the risk of being in a trail ride
story, or a recovory basics story in the May 2001 issue.

Also, is there anyone who is going that has a winch? I need some winching photos for a story. Let me know.

And to have a chance to make it into THE off road magazine??!! Come on guys!!!

Yep it's fixed. Only $50. The bad part is I had to drill out the new axle for 14mm studs. O-well it's fixed.
