OK so I went to a mud bog and on my last run following the monster truck I blew the front drive shaft and it hit and put a hole in my tranny pan.

So should I go with a deep replacement tranny pan or a stock one?

I will be installing a temp Gauge and sending unit.

BTW its a 700r4 with a stock rebuild.

from what ive experienced 700r4's are damn sensitive to overheating and stuff, its probably not much more for a deeper pan

any tranny would love a nice aluminum pan to help with heat and if ya got the coin for a deeper one then go for it.

did it burn the tranny up when it knocked a hole in it? if you're gonna have to rebuild it i'd say why not.they aren't that much and will help it perform better. that's just my experince with auto's. i rebuild everything before i stick it back though so i know what i got

No it didn't burn the trans up. It was a lil hole that i plugged up refilled and drove home it drove fine But i think i messed up my linkage because i put the coloum (SP?) shifter in park but the trans is in reverse but all other gears work and it shifts fine with no problems or noise.

TCI 2 quart plus pan from Summit was the cheapest aluminum pan I found for the 700.

Sure it's the linkage and not the column pointer?

NICE! my front u-joint let go adn dented my header... ya know with out pictures this whole...

It was awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made it thru what guys with 44s didnt make it thru Then I followed the monster truck and blew t up:D

Is like a folk tale...:D

as far as the shift kit goes...if you can afford it adn its already apart DO it...i love teh kit in my 400

Do you guys think I should get a shift kit for my Tranny? If so any recommendation ?

my friend has a 700 with a shift kit in it(the stage one RV/heavy duty) from B&M and it takes away a lot of the length in the shift when ur on the floor with the pedal. o ya, if ur new pan doesnt have a drain bolt in it, B&M has a kit to put one in thats only i think 10 bucks or so, i love mine.

I just removed the pan eairlyer and the hole is super small lil thinner the the thickness of a pencil I think I will just have a friend of mine just weld on a bead to close and just run it till i get my cash friday to get a new one and a temp gauge and sending unit and all:D

Sry I couldnt take pics But i will try to get some from my friends.

15 qts i think

Correction....

11-12 quarts for a full drain including torque converter. Most likely you should not need more than 5-6 quarts for a normal drain/filter change.

Be sure to get one with a drain plug. Makes changing fluid a lot easier and cleaner.
