and what is the disadvantage to not having this? :D . other than some MINOR body role, I didnt notice any differences. I took it on a small off road section by the beach and I liked how it handled the bumps and what not, made me feel like a real rock crawler, lol.

Looks like my ORD quick disconnect sway bar thingys are going up for sale. ;)

seriously though, is there any ill effects to not having a sway bar??

take a corner at a slightly above comfortable speed and youll notice lots of body roll. thats the main reason theyre there for.

Never know when you might need to make an evasive maneuver on the street though...

I want to take mine off, but I know as soon as I do, I'll regret it.

i took mine off and i couldn't even tell you where it is now....think it went with scrap. definately keep it off...you flex/articulation will thank you.

I took mine off a long time ago and never looked back. I can't even notice the diffrence.

Well after all this talk, I'm pretty sure mine will come off this summer. I got wayyy too many projects lined up for once it gets warm outside ;)

If you have soft springs it MIGHT make a difference under extreme maneuvers...and then only in emergency situations unless you decide to be a moron and make a 90 degree turn at 70mph RIGHT NOW.

If you have the usual lift and or regular springs it doesn't do much other than give you more road vibes and restrict your suspension's movement.

Ive got 2" ruff country spring lift and 33" M/Ts. I did a search on sway bars and now understand WHY it feels better on the road, the sway bar would tranfer energy throughout the truck when hitting bumps, so if you hit pot hole on the right, you may feel it on the right and left, etc. Ill drive it around without it and see if I like it or not. If not, its jus a matter of 4 bolt/nuts and 2 pins.

Rough Country doesn't have a reputation as making low spring rate packs so you should be fine.

The difference in ride quality on my Ram and Ranger with the sway bar off was immense.

how about rancho? I got there 2.5 inch lift springs out front, and a block and a add-a-leave out back. I took the rear one i had off and I can only feel the difference if I make a super quick manuaver over 50mph. I am gonna take the front off this spring.

Eh, your lift is probably vintage judging from the pictures you've put up so it's hard to say. You might consult the spring rate chart on here as it's at least 8 years old now.

ya I know for for a fact that it was on there in 2003 but it could be older than that. I guess i will just disconect the sway bar and tip tie out of the way, and if I dont like it give ORD a call.

It all depends on the rest of your suspension. With my old setup, it was a nightmare to drive without the swaybar. I have a new setup now and it runs great withou the swaybar.

I know there's a lot of guys on here that give that "it was put there for a reason an it is unsafe to drive without it" lecture, and that's what always scared me and kept me from taking mine off....

Not true. Everybody ignores me when I say this, but the main reason for a front anti-roll bar is to prevent oversteer (a spin) during evasive maneuvers. Soft front springs will make the oversteer even worse, while stiffer front springs (compared to the rear) will help cover for a missing anti-roll bar. Not driving like an idiot helps, but you never know when some other idiot is going to force your hand.

Well in that case in will probaly just do the disconect route, cause the are older springs so there probaly gonna be softer, than the spring table says.

My springs are like almost 20 years old. I'm gonna unbolt my sway bar and see how nasty it handles. I have a bad feeling I'll be putting it right back on.

Ok then, its a K-5 not a road racer, A big top-heavy box that should'nt be driven like a LOTUS.
