....Its like a lil jigsaw puzzle. lol. I wanted to replace the rubber lines on top of the tank. The metal vent tube was the biggest pita. You have to lower the tank enuff to reach it, but not too low to bind it up. That was fun.

Any who......... I got it all done. While the tank was partially down. I decided to POR 15 as much of it as I could. Stuff looks good. Sadly i got more on my hands than my gas tank. lol. How do you guys get this off your skin without going to extremes?

Anyways, did my gas tank and both sides of my skid plate. going to reassemble tomorrow. I replaced the 5/8th rubber vent lines as well. Something to keep in mind if any of you guys are going to place your fuel lines. I also got all brand new hose clamps. New lines look good. Also there is a 1/2 bolt that holds the metal lines in place, its on top of the frame rail. I found this out when the tank was being held up without the jack under it, lol. I was like WTH? lol. oh well.

Pics to follow........

Hmmm, I wonder if POR15 will hold up on a fuel tank:thinking:.

I cleaned and prepped mine before I painted it with some spray-on truck bed liner and it looked great, however I had a slight fuel leak at the union on the sending line (fixed now), it made the truck bed liner on the tank turn into icky-sticky nastiness...but what do I know, I haven't used POR15 yet:dunno:

Not sure about POR 15. I used to have something of a herculiner addiction (still kinda do) I used to get it off my hands by washing it off the best I could with soap and water (might want to look into some kind of soap with pumice in it, say Lava soap) Whatever was left over I would hit with nail polish remover and a green brillo pad. This might be too extreme and is probably not the best thing for them, but . . .
a. It got it off pretty well and
b. I don't care if its not good for them. I don't have pretty boy hands. They look like s***, they're not soft and creamy and I like 'em that way.
Whatever was left would usually come off in a week or two.

Oh trust me, I dont have pretty boy hands either, but they were covered in the POR15 pretty bad, not just spots here and there. Anyways. Ive just been scrubbing them with soap and water. Most of it is wearing off. Surprisingly, grease itself seems to help. I was putting my tire carrier back on my truck and had to grease up the pivot point and got grease all over my hands, as I was wiping it off, the POR15 seemed to come off.

LoL..yea..I did this on Monday and its about 99% gone off my hands now, so it does wear off. Between taking showers and dishes and using hand cleaner after working on my truck, its about gone.

But I did notice that alot of it came off when I had the grease on my fingers and was wiping it off with papertowels, I know grease is petroleum, so im sure that has some to do with it. For what its worth, it was Slick 50 Grease. :D

No one has chimed in with the link to the" Por15 on your hootus" thread?
