Well, I finally weighed my truck the other day. I weighed it without the top, 1/4tank of gas, spare 37" tire, hi-lift, and toolbox. Not to mention I removed some of the smog crap and ac compressor, plus all of the carpet and insulation. Anyone want to render a guess?

Jays68Yak was the closest. It weighed in at 5220 lbs. Without the tools, spare, and high-lift...im thinking close to 5000.

Now...how to get the weight down to the 4's (4999 will do:wink1: )? Im thinking..take the smog pump off. Cut some more of the fenders. And possibly cut the bumpers. That should shave an additional 30-40 lbs or so. Hmm....

Take out the front fenderwells, remove the A/C condensor, remove the big A/c box on the firewall, Swap in an aluminum intake manifold, remove the headliner, etc.

Edit: swap on a pickup truck tailgate

The headliner and aluminum intake have already been done. Good point on the tailgate though. It has an electric window...and is one heavy sob. I think swapping on a new tailgate, removing the smog pump, cutting the fenders more, and cutting the bumpers some may get me close to the 5000-5100 mark....
Thanks for the advice.

Only big chunk would be go full topless. I wonder what mine is :haha: Plus i'm adding 2x2 rockers soon.

anything that is steel and could be aluminum would save a good amount of weight.
