So.. Is an S-10 Cab on a Blazer frame still a Blazer?

I have been seriously contemplating building a Hybrid. The only problem will be getting hell from all of you for getting less K5ish. I really like the looks of this rig.

I could lower my center of gravity, still haul spare parts and have much more manuverability. Give you your thoughts.

When I eventually destroy my K5 tub, I think I will go with an extended S10 cab.

I think that is the nicest S-10/K5 hybrid I have seen! Someone put alot of time and work into that! Whos is that???

Denver - I believe you can run stock hummer rims if you run a steering arm that bendes in quite a bit and not straight out like stock on a 60...

Thats the "Stubby Mechano" from TTC '02. I am not sure if he entered the TTC. I got the pic from White Knight's website. Inquiring about the rig right now. I like how it has a "bed" welded to the Cab. I might do the same. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Ok, I started lookin harder at the pic and am wondering if that is a K5 chassis? Is this person running coils in the front? There is no front leaf springs, frame looks a little different in the fornt(could just be me)...

A couple of guys in our club did S-10 Blazer bodies on K5 chassis and they look pretty good. The narrow body definitely makes getting through the tight wooded trails around much nicer.

Looks stock to me, but who am I to say? I still call mine a K5. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I saw that S-truggy in person a couple of months ago being towed on the car trailer. Needless to say I did a major double take as it went by. I guess the guy is somewhat local to me...

I like it./forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Would you call that a K 2.5 ??? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

LoL Nice one! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

If it was a Jimmy you could still call it a K5, IIRC the Jimmy "K5's" were actualy K10's? I'm probably wrong, but I figured I'd put in my $.02 worth /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

You at least have to use an S-10 Blazer body. Then at least it is still a Blazer /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

looks like a ford bronco? dosnt look like a K5 to me, frame wise. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I won't be running much sheetmetal on my rig, and when it all falls apart, I will either be tubing it, or putting an s10 cab and front clip on it. The biggest problem is the length of the front clip, and the fact that I have a big block. But I suppose you can always lengthen body panels.
It will still be K5 drivetrain. You can go to K5, and S10 sites /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[ QUOTE ]
That is a sweet rig, hmmm.... howd he get away with not recentering those hummer beadlocks?

[/ QUOTE ]I have dually hubs... that might be what he did.

I had the same problem. I welded two fenders together to make one long fender. Mine look crappy (look good at 50' or so /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) but I suck at welding sheetmetal. I am sure it can be done to look good.
