So it was Supposed to start today :/

Okay so basically tomorrow I will 1.)check for spark, and if there is spark then pull the distributor...My brother put it in correctly I believe and we had to pull it to plug in some wires behind the dist...We didnt have a sharpie so we put it back in the way we though it was the first time which is why I want to try to get everything i need to look for just in case the distributor is actually in correctly

Okay we checked and there was no spark. There was power going into the distributor and none going to the spark plugs. Got a new coil. Still nothing. Now I was 180 out with the distributor timing. Would there still have been spark??? We are puting in old distributor in now top dead center. Will keep you guys posted!

Ground wires are hooked up...Everything is plugged in as far as I know there are only two plugs that go into the distributor. 12v going in its just that there is no spark and it doesnt make sense:confused: I am going to look for a checklist to narrow down the possibilities of the problem to no spark:thumb: This k5 will NOT win :woot:

Check back in 15 min after I upload these pics and see what you guys think. I may be on to something

So heres the best guess I have as of now. This connector is one I snatched from the junkyard. I dont believe it was the exact same as the previous one that was pretty rough...Well we put the wires into the new connector and this one does not click into place. If the other one did, that I dont know, but i feel like this connector may be the wrong size and could possibly be messing with the connection which is why I am not getting spark...Probably not but thats my Guess....:dunno: We looked and there is 12v from the wire thats going in so I shouldnt be getting any problems...

Put a crimp connector on the power wire and then solder it. The connect it to the correct tab. One tab is for 12v and the other is output for a tach (at least thats what my hei dizzy is, but mine isnt stock). When i put my motor in i forgot to connect power to the dizzy. Was so damn confused for a good hour lol.

The connector in that picture does NOT go to the distributor.

Father n law just texted me saying we had everything right except we used one wrong wire....I'm keepin my fingers crossed lol. Will let you guys know tonight

Looks like the alternator plug to me. My dizzy plug was only a one terminal connector. Not 2 like that....

That plug is the AC plug, the older style alternator plugs are white and do not have those cutouts where the metal contacts are. The AC plug is usally black or green and does have those cutouts.

Well we have spark now! Just have to get the timing right and should be good. Saw oil pouring out of the block (which scared the S*** out of us at first) turns out there are three holes and one is located right about the oil filter. You guys know what goes in there? http://www.montecarloss.com/community/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=823705

This is another car but i am talking about the same three holes

The top hole is for a bell crank for a manual trans, the hole just above the filter is an oil galley and either gets plugged or put your oil pressure switch there, and the last hole that faces front/rear is the back side of the bell housing dowel pin.
