Call Detroit, order some parts. Get back to me.

That is literally the ONLY ad I have ever seen that says that. I can find 50 pieces of GM literature that do not call it a Detroit Diesel.

So, what you guys are saying is, Martin is wrong.

Call Detroit, order some parts. Get back to me.

hahaha. No then. I don't.
I have just always heard them called detroit diesels. I wasn't trying to bump the DefCon level or anything.

Or it is a photoshop.

Not sure this is relevant. My local GM dealer doesn't carry 6.2 parts anymore, either.
So it's pretty much a wash, at this point.![]()
Martin, I'm trying to agree with you, but this makes it sound like you're defending a conspiracy theory without much proof. Aside from your inner convictions, do you have any reason to think this ad is fake? The engine definitely looks like an N/A 6.2 (it's not a 6.5, nor any gasoline engine). Is there some other ad using this picture that could have been photoshopped?
