So what really was the first year that the 4x4 Rally Rim was available?

Possibly Rally wheel shown in Uniroyal brochure in 1974 dealer book:

I had a 75. It had the rally’s with the tall caps over the front hubs. I’m trying to get the guy who has it to take a picture of the sheet in the glove box.

Just acquired a 6 lug 15x7 rally today, seems to be somewhat rare, what did 15x7 actually come on?

I have some.

They were an option when the rally wheel was new. I could do some digging to see when it ended, but only if someone is REALLY interested in knowing. The choices were 15"x7" or 15"x8".

Here are a couple screenshots from the 1975 Pickup Vehicle Information Kit.

This one is zoomed in.

You can see they both have the same RPO N67. The size difference was triggered by the tire size that was ordered. Much like the base steel wheels that came in 15”x8” (later used on M1009 CUCV’s).

Here are screenshots showing the tire choices for a 1975 K10 pickup.

You can see they are all calling for a 6” wide wheel. Which was the standard 15”x6” steel wheels with a dog dish hub cap.

More of the same.

Here you see more 6” wheels called for, but then you see “WIDE BASE” tire choices. They call for an 8” wide wheel. That is how you ended up with the 15”x8” standard steel wheels with a dog dish hub cap.

I can add that my '84 K10 came with 15 x 8 rallys and P235/75-15's from the factory. My old man ordered it new. (I was 7 and there with him at the dealer lol)

I would actually like to get a hold of two 15x7s
We got a 95 2wheel drive 2500 with 6 lug. Thinking some wide tires on the back on 8s and skinny tires on7s for the front would be cool. And only true GM People would catch it.

Lower and minus the running boards of course!

I don't know if you prefer that but I have a set of aluminum slots in 6 lug 15" 2x7" and 2x8"
