I'm in the process of upgrading my 'burb and one of the things I need are some new front shackles, heavier duty than the originals, or the light duty replacements that are on it now. Front end on this truck is heavy due to the cummins swap.

So who's got the best design out there?

I'm tempted to just go to National Spring and see what they have, but there's gotta be tons of you guys that have figured this out already.....

Some specifics on the truck:1985 Suburban Cummins 24V +NV4500+NP205+Chelsea PTO, TSTMP3, VanAaken, Edelbrock gerotor pump, Isspro pyro/boost/fuel gauges, remote fuel filters, D60 front, 14 Bolt FF rear, Detroit lockers, 6" lift, 35x12.5x16.5 BFG MT, 10K PTO winch, CUCV brushguard, 6m/2m/220/440 radios

Add a second vote for both. You can't go wrong with either one. I have the ORD with greasable hardware.

Gravel Maker also makes bas ass shackles. the ORD's are 1 3/4 wide, not sure on the DIY's, the Gravel Maker's are 2 in wide and made of Hi strength strucural steel which is stronger then cold rolled steel which is what I am pretty sure everybody else uses. all Gravel Makers stuff is made of this type of steel. all are 3/8 thick.

my burb will get my set of ORD shackles but my Blazer will get my set of Gravel Makers. you cant go wrong with any of them. just pointing out the differences.
