So ya wanna daily drive your K5/10/20/30. What would be your ideal setup?

seems to me, on the lift situation, guys are doing the 3" deal, or AAL/zero rate and maybe 1" BL. But overall, 3" lift and under.

so....which would ride better- 3" Ez rides or stock w/ zero rate? (assuming stock springs are in decent shape)

Also, can cross-over be done on such a low lift???

I just ordered the 3" kit for my 91, gonna run 33's on 15x8's. Hopefully have it installed over thanksgiving holidays

let's face it, most DD's are on the "road" 98% of the time. build something that excels at that and would be capable in some off road situations. is this a wish list or a build sheet? do you have any type of budget? i might have missed which truck you want to upgrade, the '88?

Could be both a wishlist and a build sheet.. this thread is more informative for everyone than just me, but I'm getting some great ideas out of this..

I'm in the process of upgrading my '90. So far it has fresh paint and a stripped interior.. still deciding on the rest and time is an issue too, never enough of that. Budget is tight right now, but will get better. So I'm taking it one step at a time.

-good sound system...not sure why you want marine speakers

I've seen some nice ones out there, and I was assuming that I would be pressure washing the interior from time to time if it gets really dirty (bedliner'd floor). Plus if it rains and the top is off, they don't get ruined.

Great ideas guys, and sweet DD's! Keep 'em comin :D

This looks good, but I think I would go with a 40/20/40 leather split bench instead. I'm not sure how the seats would tilt for passengers to enter the rear of the blazer though :dunno:

This isn't my truck. I found these pics on another site. They are out of an escalade according to the owner.

i was just thinkin bout a 40/20/40 with the integrated seat belts for the front and rear of the crew cab. those would be comfy, and an easy way to get shoulder belts in the rear.

Ive been watching this thread for a few days and thought Id post up my upcoming build ideas.

6.5 TD
700R4/4L80E
14SF/10B
4.56 gears
4"-6" lift with 33-35inch tires

As for the talk of seats. I am currently looking for another set of seats but I do have a set of 40/20/40 seats out of a 99 Dodge Ram in my truck on a custom built(albeit very very heavy) frame. Theya re comfortable but They just wont fit in when I do get the interior finished. I did build a 6 point cage for it and that will be getting padded. Heated seats sounds like a great idea and so does the idea of a remote start.

Heres Some pics of my DD

I'm planning on some 4.10 1-tons, 315-70-17's NV4500,NV3550,or 4L80E. and a P400 with banks turbo

srw k30 crew with a modded 6b, rear discs, 4 inch lift, 35 all terrains, leather interior from newer truck etc... someday Ill build it :)

oh and this will probably cause an uproar but I did get 24 mpg highway with my single cab 2wd 6 speed 2000 f**d 7.3.

That is a nice Burb yellowK20, rare combo for sure: 6.2 diesel and fully loaded, nice. Thats the highest luxury silverado interior you can get from the factory, I like the armrests and the burl wood trim. You don't really have to upgrade your interior, just leave it stock and original :waytogo:

yep, only issue with mine is its 1/2 ton Interior will remain STOCK I'm looking for a Stock Stereo for it now with out much luck

yeah what ever was the best one for that year, I'll upgrade the speakers and and a hidden Ipod connection

Those Escalade seats are bitchin.

Might have to try to find some, thing about those types of seats though is I can dang near get some really nice Corbues or Recaros for what some wrecking yards want for those.

Time to start scrounging I really like the grand cherokee seats in Horton.

As nice as those seats are, I'm kinda a Purist I like refurbished stock seats lol I guess I'm just weird

Yep you are, my favorite seats in a blazer ever have been my stock low back buckets in my 73 man were those comfy, usually you think about your seats on a long drive not those things. Never thought about them until after the ride. Loved those seats.

I might just recover the other set of seats I have but my cushions in my 89 are busted down hard.

Thats actually why I like the escalade seats posted they don't look a ton out of place. Thats really what I would like a seat that doesn't look a ton out of place but is comfy for me. I am kind of shaped odd so its hard finding seats I really really like

the most comfortable seat I've ever had is the bench seat I re-did for my stepside I double stuffed it and put a new cover on it after beefing up the springs , I love that seat.........Infact I think its coming north for the rear of the crew cab LOL

I had one cummins guy straight faced tell me he got over 30 with his regularly.

Maybe he was Canadian? Imperial gallon is 20% more than the SI gallon.

I read the diesel power article, I know exactly what it takes to break 30 in a cummins.

Now that right there is real world experience nobody can argue with. Glad to know where I can take my questions.

Back on topic--I daily drive my '82 K30 for work and it performs great, but I'll admit that when I'm not working it's nice to hop in a shorter, narrower, quieter truck with an automatic for running errands. Both my '82 and '83 have all new seals on everything, extensive sound deadener upgrades, stock bench for the half ton and '89 Burb seats in the crew. One of these days I'd really like to get a Gear Vendors for my Cummins truck as the 4.10's mean a top comfortable speed of around 65-70 and pretty poor fuel mileage. 'Course, that mileage might be related to the horsepower I'm layin' down too . . . .
