Damn!!! Two months ago and I woulda bought this in a heartbeat. Bump for a great price.

Damn! Where would half-way point be if we could meet?

Sorry, I don't have any means to transport this engine. This would have to be a pick up only deal. Thanks for checking it out though.

What would this motor compression be if I put Merlin oval ports on it?

Not sure what the compression ratio would be. Best bet would be to call a Summit rep. and plug in all the variables to get a close estimate on the compression ratio. It would depend on the c.c. of the heads, gasket, etc...

I can figure out what compression would be if i had some specs but i can tell you it is impossible to achieve 14.5:1 with a flat top piston.

Quick calculation throwing in some "close estimates" would be about 8.5:1

Merlin oval port heads are 119cc chambers and then i used the common .039" head gasket thickness, i checked with .025" block deck height and also zero deck (only a difference of .336:1), 3cc piston relief, 4.310" cylinder bore and 4.370" head gasket bore, and finally a 4.25" stroke.

Damn! Now I'm definitely veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery interested in this motor.:thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

I have money in my account now but its meant for the metal siding for my shop. I want to see what is leftover before deciding on a trip or not. I know tax season is just around the corner, so I may even go ahead charge the card. :doah:

Give me another week or two so I can get my final tally for the rest of the materials on my shop.

Wes, you need to be hit over the head with a framing hammer (Greg and Aaron know what i'm talking about) :D. This is a SCREAMING deal. You better jump before someone else does. The metal siding will still be available for the shop at a later date. :deal:

I know. I know. :doah: I know and understand screaming deals when it comes to BBC's, especially with all the work and parts put into them.

If he weren't so far away, that motor would have been gone the same day he posted it up. Distance, along with time, is the killer for me right now. I'm not ruling out a road trip just yet but I have been thinking of going ahead and paying for half now and the rest when I pick it up. :wink1:;)

Forgot to add, the motor is 1000 miles away.

Anyone doing a road trip around Kansas and Michigan?

10-4 on that. I actually have a torn down a BBC to build that exact thing for my '73 Z-28 right now in my garage.

I can't do it myself for that price.

It'd be a 5680 km round trip drive for me. obviously not going to happen.

too damn bad, it;d of saved me a ton of time and money.
