1973 Chevy Blazer

NO SMOG

I bought this truck last year from the owner of the company that makes custom mufflers (Coffin Mufflers). He originally bought it for his son.
He lifted the Blazer and put the NEW 44” boggers on it, rebuilt the transmission and transfer case. He sold it to me because his son kept getting in trouble with it.

I bought it and in the next 6 months built it up to what you have listed below, everything listed below except for the engine is NEW with less than 200 miles on it unless otherwise noted.

I finished installing the axles and everything else on it 2 weeks before shipping out to Iraq for the second time.
I even have a few boxes of NEW stuff I have not yet installed.

This is not a show truck this truck was made to play.

the D60 has been sandblasted and POR15'd with top coat. Maybe has 200 Miles on it since rebuilt and installed. (while on deployment the battery fell over and leaked on the axle while in storage so the POR15 bubbled up....I will clean it up best I can for now and paint it black.)
Also, the axle shafts are not in it at the moment, the axle tubes and backs of the spindles are capped to keep dirt out.

I was planning to install the axle and drive it to a shop to have the front gears done, but after I installed it I was sent to Iraq and haven’t gotten new gears and locker put in it yet. All it needs is gears, locker and then the axles put back in.

I am sure I am missing some things but that is the meat and patatoes of the Blazer.

$5000.00

I am open for offers so do not be shy try me if it is a smokin deal and I am in the right mood I might just give it away......... maybe not give it away but I am flexable.

I remember your old thread on selling it and it is one beautiful machine. Hope you get everything out of it, don't settle for a penny less!

This is another great example of a great, rust-free truck to which someone else has already done all the major big mods, and would be a steal for someone that can live with just doing a little assembly work on that D60. You couldn't build it for anything near the selling price, and a '73 is smog-exempt in California. Buy this thing!

lol, were you talking to me? I wish but it's a little out of my price range, plus I'm working with vrigilh on getting his Diesel titled Jimmy with the 5.7 Vortec and such. This is a great looking Blazer and I hope somebody on here picks it up so it doesn't leave the site!

No, that was for everybody that stopped by the thread, especially those guys that have almost totally stock rigs that they seem to want to modify heavily. They'd save thousands of dollars by buying something like this truck, since most all of the usual big mods have already been completed. If it wasn't half a country away, I might even take a look at it myself as an upgrade to my rusty '85.

Oh, ok. That's so true though, this would save a ton of $$$ for somebody that wants a trail/mud worthy rig.

I PM'd ya' about an offer, check it out. Man I love the look of this rig. Plus ya' can't beat that drivetrain either for a dd/mudder/sander.

Oh and for the guy with shipping expect to spend about $800-$1000 on it. Probably on the one grand side especially because of the size, they will hit ya' big for that, trust me I've checked. ;)

wow that really turned out nicely...i remember when it was on 10 bolts, and people were givin u crap bout it bein "too big"

i love the rims, how did you do that? did you do it yourself, or have someone paint them?

Thanks MuddyBuddy for the compliments I think it turned out good as well it does need a bath and some dusting done inside from sitting while I was gone. Or maybe a run in some mud to make it look just right for the next owner:haha:

But thanks Yeah I remember the 10bolts they looked like twigs under this beast with the 44's. the running gear in it now makes a huge difference.

It is just waiting for someone to buy it so it can be driven :D

Oh yeah the rims I did myself painted them a mat black and then used a big peice of rolled construction paper stuffed the edge of the paper in the seem between the two sections of the rim and sprayed the green turned out freakin awsome but that's just my opinion :D

yea i love that look, i think i might do that with mine (except black and red, since my truck is two tone black and red)

i took it wheelin for the first time after the axle swap and new steering...wow it was sweet. i got stuck tho...shoulda bought boggers haha. but this truck sees the street way to much and boggers suck gas milage like its their job. maybe ill get a second set of tires hehe

interesting. i always thought '73-75 Blazers were full convertables and '76+ were half tops like this one.
