That's cause what they do can't be done by an oil costing a buck fifty - and we'll outperform oils costing a whole lot more.
Granted, a lot of what we do is beneficial to the industrial / commercial user, but maybe this will help demonstrate how serious we are about lubrication, and why we might be worth what we charge, and how we provide value for everyone, regardless of application.
Note the attached document. In May of 2008, I authored and presented a paper to the Association for Iron & Steel Technology.
The paper was titled:
"Lubrication Assistance: Extreme Thermal and Wear Reduction - The Case for Adopting. Nanotechnology-derived Lubrication Improvement in the Steel Industry"
We had been invited by one of our steel industry customers to introduce the Anti Wear / Anti Shear nanotech components ( AKA the "quantum" components in the quantum blue lubes) to a gathering of steel industry professionals.
Our being invited was due to the outstanding successes of our entire product line in harsh industrial operating conditions.
My audience was comprised of lubrication engineers, and maintenance professionals tasked with maintaining production and profits 24/7 - wasting their time would have doomed us and our reputation.
I asked several opening questions:
1) How many of you are experiencing lube related equipment downtime on a premature basis?
2) How many of you are experiencing downtime, even after purchasing the most expensive synthetic lubes you can find?
All hands went up - for both questions.
They went on to hear me describe the same things I've presented in my vendor thread here.
More importantly, nobody argued the following points that were made by us:
1) Heat and pressure are the enemies of all lubes.
2) The word "synthetic" is a meaningless marketing term - All group I thru V oils are made of processed hydrocarbons, subject to the laws of thermal degradation.
3) Reducing heat and wear will reduce friction, which will reduce lube temps and wear particles, which will in turn extend oil and equipment life.
4) High dollar lubes and their marketing budgets don't always get the job done. ( cheap oils aren't even considered )
We then went on to show them how the quantum anti wear / anti shear materials made assertion # 3 happen, in a variety of tests & field evaluations.
I'm not lying when I say that snake oil salesmen don't (nor do regular oil salesmen) get invited to speak at gatherings such as this. You need to be pertinent, knowledgeable, unique, and proven.
Bottom line - their eyes were opened, and now that industry knows there's a better way..And ever so slowly, we're winning hearts and minds.
As a fellow gearhead, I know you guys love your trucks and want the best. You have it here before you. The quantum materials blended with the QB basestocks really are the pinnacle of protection.
As always, I appreciate the support I get here from my people, and look forward to another year of continued service.
