After seeing the thread about Blazerfest I started workin on the truck to see if I might be able to make it out there.

Started off with some Herculiner in the bed and cab, turned out pretty nice, little rough but I was expecting that...

Bought some 14" travel shocks from ORD, picked up some ford towers, waiting on some tabs and lower shock mounts from DIY.

Went to PNP on my lunch today to look for anything interesting, found a 75 with a SM465 and NP203...you guessed it the adapter and range box came home with me. (didn't pull on my lunch, went back after work). Time to work on setting up a doubler.

Rear Shackle Angle Question

I traded a buddy of mine my 52" rears for some 56". Swapped the ORD shackle flip brackets sides, now I am wondering what the rear shackle angle should be. With the 52's the shackle was pretty muck vertical. This is how it sits right now with it's average weight. Is this OK? Also what would happen if I put longer shackles on? new 007.jpg

Oh yeah...Picked this up from 4X4HIGH last weekend! Thanks Scott!

He sold you his doubler? He must have found something he wants more...

You gonna make it to hollister then?

Yeah, I contacted him about the machining and ended up buying his complete setup. I should be at Hollister, this won't be in...need to save for shafts.

I was told the shackles should be at about 45 degrees. Will need to verify that though, as I haven't installed mine yet. Good choice of parts BTW. You'll really like those seats!

Those look like stock shackles. Can they be used in compression like that? seems like they wouldtaco fairly easy.

I am going to purchase some Extended ones from DIY. They are stock, we will see if they taco before my new ones come I guess...

Went to Hollister for a few hours saturday to check out any kinks, had a blast! Saw some rigs from Blazerfest and met a few guys. Here are some poser shots. And the last one shows why I should have flex tested it after putting on the 56's...

Damn, i must have missed you. I rolled into Hollister Hills around 10:15 saturday morning.

Scott, I saw you near the newer little obstacle course. I think you were chasing someone down. I heard you get on it. Also think I saw Brian by the campgrounds near the big obstacle course.

Went out wheelin again and got this motivation from a boulder to put the doubler in, why not it's sitting there right...

Installed an ORD 1" body lift.

In cab doubler shot, gotta love all the shifters.

As some of you probably say from the garage I installed a Lockright in the 60, used a punch that was a little too small and broke it off inside when I was removing the roll pin. Got it all done though and now have the GLO cover on. Live and learn.

This weekend I am planning on building a crossmember for the doubler and hopefully get started on my 52's, already picked up a set from PNP.

Oh yeah, I did get my UDSR shackles so the rear should be set once I slap those in.

Almost forgot this, traded a guy some stuff for this nice start to a rear bumper. He is going to add a hitch to it also. I just need to make some mounting brackets. Tube is 3x8x3/16.

Tonight trimmed out some of the floor to get the doubler tucked up higher. Got a nice chunck of the crossmember done. Hopefully will drive it this weekend. Going to the driveline shop tomorrow to get my rear built. I'm probably going to wait to do the 52's and flex it out before I get a front. Can't wait to wheel with the doubler and front locker!
