Sure can:

built 396 bigblock (use to pull the front wheels off the ground in my chevelle muhaha)
including: new air-gap edelbrock intake, edelbrock roller rockers and head guts, square port heads, steel crank, aftermarket rods etc etc..
rebuilt/built th400 (5 clutch, came from a dump truck Im told, shift kit)
Altas II transfer case (3.8:1) w/ all the heavy-duty upgrades (1410's, HD output shaft, etc etc)
High Angle Driveline driveshafts (not ordered yet)
1-ton conversion (14bff/D60)
39.5" TSL's on USA6x6 double beadlocks (custom rock rings)
rear disk brake conversion
Changed over to late model lift springs (73+), req'd custom front hangers
8"skyjacker springs
ORD shackles
zero rates front and back
1" body lift
West Texas Offroad Hydraulic Assist Steering (1.75" ram)
ORD crossover steering (hi-steer later)
on-board air system

That's all I can thnk of off the top of my head. Here's a cpl pics of the motor etc...

We're putting the body back on temporary to fit up the motor (gonna move it forward I guess), fit the tranny and transfer case (need a new crossmember there) and to get ideas for a skid plate.

Looks like I might need to trim the rear quarters ever so slightly. Dont really want to at all, but the thing is already getting massively tall, dont really want to go any higher. Also need to play with moving the rear axle back via the zero rates before I get carried away removing sheet metal.

Between us in this family we have several trucks. So I decided to make this a sort of all-around truck. It wont have the flex of a true rock crawler, but it'll go deep, high, in soft sand (have a dune park here) and up just about any mountain trail I'll ask it to around here. And it'll turn heads while we park at the bottom of Comp Hill (Pismo Dunes). I think it's gonna serve that purpose just fine.

Thanks for the psitive replies guys. I'll be sure to keep posting pics as she comes together (then goes back apart, then goes back together again lol).

edit: haven't decided how Im gonna do the lockers. Detroit in the rear for sure, probably an ARB up front.

Hey did I meet you at the ATV rental place on the beach over ThanksGiving? I think that was you?
Try and get it done by May (Memorial weekend) as we will be there that weekend and we can put our BBCs at the bottom of CompHill and see who makes it to the top first :D

That was my brother Garry, Im Chris. :D Usually we both use this s/n here. Garry doesn't work at the ATV place anymore, but I still do. :doah: Sucks he always seems to be the one meeting the CK5'ers, I rarely get to. I remember him telling me he met you, I was bummed I missed ya.

May, hmmm. We'll try!

I like it - now I want 39.5s!
lol :)

Silly question for you guys, I want your opinion on the color. :D

Originally it was yellow, like you see on the inside of the firewall in some of the pics. Since then someone has painted it a couple diff colors, the last being black. Im mainly thinking black, or the original yellow. I know, huge diff, and I keep going back and forth. lol I do like the original yellow, and going back to an original color has always been something I like doing, but there's a problem. I already own 2 yellow vehicles. lmao Seriously.

So do I really want a third yellow vehicle? lol Give me your color opinions please. :)

Ahh ok, well nice to meet you anyway ahhahahaa

I allways like the factory Dark Green Chevy used on our trucks.
I don't liike the lighter colors too much so I suggest staying with a darker color that will be easy to touch up as needed.
Rattle can it :eek1: :D

I was gonna just rattle can my K5 Olive Drab but nowa days LOTS of rigs run that color...
When I swaped in my 454 I used Black engine enamal on my engine bay and that stuff dries like hard ceramic..
Good Luck
Burt

Yeah you're probably right about the darker colors being better. Good tip.

Thanks for the compliment Mak. :)

Garry..."damn", that's all I can say...hmmm let me try it again, "damn"...nope that is all I can say.

Im pretty confident the Atlas will handle it. :) They're pretty beefy. If Im worried about anything on it, its not the gears, its the case. :D

I think black works well on that K5. A matte black would be cool too - looks sinister and seems fitting for the vibes that K5 is giving off.

looks to be an angle shim and a zero rate. in which case the zero rate is bolted into the spring pack and has no ill effect on it unlike a block.
