So, never mind the driver's door odyssey I've been having.

Yesterday, I try to get some grinding done to clean up the one side, and a huge piece simply fell through the side. No idea how to fix that; I don't really have any bodywork skills.

The alternator is toast and needs to be replaced. Don't know how to do that without the whole thing catching fire...like it did before.

I got attacked by mice as I was grinding. (That was easy to fix. Ask me how I did it. :angry1:)

I haven't driven this thing in two years and it's looking like I never will. I'm very frustrated.

Sometimes you just need to walk away from projects for a little bit.

It happens.

Not sure what you mean about the alternator and fire though :dunno:
Unplug the battery first?

I don't know to many people that got far in life giving up. I'm in outside sales and there are plenty of times were I feel like I'm making backwards progress. Like Deuling said, walk away for a little while. Keep your head up. You will get through it. God wouldn't put you through it if he didn't think you could handle it.

Honestly, it depends how far you've gotten and how much you have invested. I went cheap on my CUCV and am still fighting rust and rot to this day, and I spent a lot of time and money. In hindsight I would gladly pay an extra few $K to start with a better platform.
