Every since I bought mine the intial reaction from friends of...you bought another old pile, is changing to this thing is a beast, or I really like your truck.

Also everyone who has got into the back seat has made a comment about how roomy it is back there. Ive got a feeling Ill be nominated to be one of the trucks to drive to Mankato for the ski trip this year:rolleyes: Im gettin gas money this go around though:D

Having only owned regular cab pick-ups before the K5, I can safely say that I would have to think really hard about buying another regular cab. I love having the back seat, and the little bit of space behind it. The K5 is always the tow rig when we go snowmobile/dirt biking, no fun having you're gear frozen in the back of the truck when you put it on. Plus when pulling the 4 place trailer, I can actually carry 4 people. I like being able to fold up the seat and sleep back there too. Sure it's a little cramped (especialy with the GF back there :D), but it's better than a pick-up box. I could go on for hours on how much I love my K5, but I'm sure most of the people here know all about the good qualities.

my brother has always had to use his 95 bronco to haul everyone around but i got my k5 and now instead of fighting for shotgun he wants to sit in the back of my k5 and says it has more leg room then his front seats. by the way me and my brother are both 6'2" and we appreciate leg room.

My kids love the space they have in the backseat, it easily rivals the room they have in the Astro.

My wife still thinks of Krusty as the beast, but she has told me several of the ladies she works with love it. I just wish she would bring some of these ladies home, you know, for a wheeling trip.:haha:

they dont like it so much with tha top off n it gets like this...i think its awesone to b able to pop tha top n hit tha mud...

Oh, I don't know about your kids, but mine have begged me to take them out in the mud when I have the top off. I don't quite think they realize that the mud is going to coat them. And I don't think momma would be too happy with me. The other problem is finding mud around here when it is warm enough to actually have the top off.

mine too...especially my niece...n no they dont have a clue, but thier moms would die laughin if i brought em back covered n goo...main reason i stripped all tha carpet out of it...jus need to put tha bedliner diy stuff n it thats been n tha garage for 6 months...

IMHO.. I can see why the SUV is so popular after owning and driving my Suburban for almost a year. Comfortable, able to haul people and gear, and still able to tow and do "truck" stuff. I rarely used the bed in my ranger because crap would get wet or stolen and riding with more than one person sucked in it.

I only wish GM would put a Duramax in a Suburban.. that'd be perfect.

I love our Suzuki but I wish to hell we had waited a week to buy it. Diesel 80's Suburban 4x4 from Texas was on the local Craigslist for like $2500. We'd probably be pimping that now. Miss the big roominess of my K5 and Blazer K1500.

the k5 really is like the ultimate vehicle, it can carry 5 ppl comfortably very easily, its convertible, its got a nice soundin v8, its 4wd, its cheap to maintain and parts are dirt cheap. granted there are alot of them, but when you see a nice one, it really spikes peoples interest. plus, its the heartbeat of america:usaflag::pimp:

the only drawback is that people think its a bronco:angry1: how can people get it confused with a far inferior vehicle?:doah:

Lets not forget that in the great sunshine state 1 years registration is $68.00 for the blazer & $267.00 for a 1983 c3500 dually yes I enjoy my K5!

why is it so much more expensive. i just got me registration bill for my blazer and its super cheap but i just figured all older trucks were cheap. there anywhere good to wheel over in esparto i live in davis

Yeah, I hate it when people call the Blazer / Jimmy a Bronco. What the heck? Do you not see that the mighty Chevrolet on the tailgate?

the reason they are so cheap to register is because with a lift gate they are looked at as a oversize station wagon.the title to mine in pa says it.that way you dont register as a truck and pay more for the gvr rating like on a pickup.

MY 75 originally is from AZ and was designated as a station wagon on the title, had a hard time making Va. dmv go along with that but it is still a station wagon.:D

Yep, mom and dad's '76 K5 and the '92 Blazer K1500 were station wagons until I went to California. By the time I was back the Michigan Secretary of State was hip to the whole SUV thing.

I agree completely with that statement. My brother (the one I bought my Yukon from) got so annoyed with me for hauling an engine home for my other brother. "It's not supposed to do stuff like that!" "Looks like it is to me.":D My only complaint about the Yukon is the drivers seat heater don't work.

There is a guy in Ohio that was featured in Four Wheeler years ago that would swap Duramaxes into Subbys and Avalanches. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: Here is the link
