later I was digging behind my seat, and find some RCA jacks, and I figure he had a sub in it at one point. top that off I find an amp under the seat, a Sony Xplod amp nontheless...

well I'm not willing to leave the stupid overhead thing especially since it doesn't have any visors, and to me eye protection is more important then some speaker thing I will never listen to. well what do I find when I pull this speaker console down? (I was totally unprepared)

Score!! :doah:

That's a quality HI-FI system you got there :D

They didn't leave their Jeff Foxworthy CD in the player, did they?

Yah, nice install on the Jensen deck.

How is that overhead speaker console shaped? I'd pick that up from you if i was closer, would be cool in teh rear of a blazer or burb.

I was thinking about adapting one of those "Shelf-It" type units to house some speakers and a CB, but I'm not sure how much weight they could tolerate.

On my buddy's last K5 the PO had welded the ash tray shut, cut out a portion of the dash there and screwed through the dash metal and into the CD deck with sheet rock screws to secure it...I'm still not sure how that was easier/less work than to put it in the factory stereo location.

I think the unit its self would be plenty strong, but I think it lacks a very good way of attaching it to the ceiling. a few extra long washers with self tapping screw etc. could be a good mix.

I'll give this to anybody who is willing to pay shipping costs on the stupid thing lol. I'll never use it, and others have treated me real well with parts I needed.

They must have taken the tassels off that would have hung in front of it to block the sun:haha:Can't sell those.Let me know what other parts I can get you.

lol - visors already got thrown in with another deal if it falls through I'll let you know. send me your address, and we'll work it out sometime down the road sound good?

Some have called me crazy for this sterio install. But I like it a lot better, I actually hate the stock location.

EDIT: I should note the 3 screws seen on the trim face was done by the previous owner not because of the sterio. The alum plate covering the factory location was cut out of an old street sign then sanded trying to mimic the brushed alum trim. Some of the metal in the dash pad and the actual steel dash has to be cut and of course this doesnt work with A/C vents.
