Source for 4 core upper radiator mounts, 81 and up? (mid size bushings?)

Does anyone know a source for the 2 upper mounts for the thicker 4 core radiator for 81 and up shovel nose squares? The regular 2 core mounts are too short to mount the 3" thick 4 core style radiator.

I've searched on here and found some older posts with GM parts that are now discontinued. And LMC and Classic only seem to have the shorter ones now.

Is there a source for new radiator mounts that would of likely came with a big block?

They look like this, but they need to be for a 3" thick radiator...

The metal or just the rubber inserts?

When I did mine I seem to remember having to buy them for a car application.

The two metal mounts, the rubber inserts are easier to find.

The metal isn't the same I don't think? This metal seems to short when I measure it.

Gotcha, when I installed the big radiator I had a hard time finding rubbers big enough, I recall having to buy them for a car application, Buick or Cadillac I think…on the pre 81 all that changed was the rubbers for different sizes

Some one needs to start making custom mounts, mine are cracked and I'm afraid I wont find a set.

If they are just cracked can't you just weld them?

I guess worst cast I could buy another set, cut them both off with opposite sides longer, and weld them together longer, then paint them.

But I would rather avoid that if I can buy a new set.

This is for a customer's vehicle and new parts are usually cheaper than custom fabrication.

I could, but a custom set that won't crack again sparks my interest more. I'll just leave them in until the radiator flops out. :haha:

Sounds like a good product for Deuling Design if he's not too busy with other stuff. Seems like they'd be fairly "easy" with some flat material and a metal brake.

If it wasn't for that "kink" in the middle to go over that spot welded together ridge it would be a simple part that already exists like the 73-80 parts.

I'm not sure it could be bent easily, I think it needs be stamped.

Flat plat with some 1/2"(?) "U" channel sectioned in to hold the rubber, add a turned down tab at the end for the shroud. Of course, it's easy for me to say that because I can't fab or weld. :doah: :rotfl:

I am surprised that no one has step in with an aftermarket replacement as they fit both the 4 row gas and diesel radiators, you'd think there's enough demand.

The 4 core upper is a plate that goes all the way across, not 2 separate brackets. I have one in my '90, but I don't know how the reproduction ones are.

I have a CUCV diesel radiator set up in my '91, it's the 2 brackets and a plastic piece spanning the distance between. (the plastic piece might be part of the shroud, I'd have to go look)

Yup, why the big block one is a plate, I don't know. I have seen several, missed an NOS one because the guy didn't understand what I said in my offer. He let it go in with a steering column deal.

When I get home tonight I'll dig em out and see how they measure. Wouldn't need more than a scuff up and spray can to look new.

I never realized gas vs diesel were different, good to know.

I could make it, but it would take hours of fab because of that kink in it, I don't think brackets that cost more than the radiator would sell. A laser and CNC brake would help but I think it would still need to be welded and fabbed. Stamped would be cheap except for the initial tooling.

I didn't realize that, thank you.

Thanks, I'm just going to order one below.

Good to know.

# 19 in the pic.
Thanks guys, I thought they didn't make them so I posted up looking for a used one.

That was from the other thread. @500$k5 found what I needed at LMC when I had missed it looking for two pieces. I thought only the 73-80 was 1 piece.

So they are available yet. Thank you everyone!

So are there 3 different size bushings for these radiators? Because I can only find two I am aware of, big block and small block. The SB seem to be about 2 3/8" thick, and the big block seem to be about 3 1/2" thick. I need a set that's for a radiator about 3" thick, but can't find what to order...

Shown is the aluminum radiator about 3" thick at the tank, along with an old small block bushing (too short) and big block bushing (too long).

It seems as though the BB is 4 core and the SB is 2 core, is there a 3 core bushing?
