The two alignment pins for the rear of the hardtop on my M1009 were to rusty to reuse when I pulled the top this summer. I'm in the middle of replacing all the seals before I reassemble everything and need a source for new ones. My Google keywords are not bringing anything up. Guess I'll look at LMC next just in case.

If I cannot find any to buy, anyone have one that could get some measurements for me?

I think I tossed mine when I went softtop.
I will look in the shed though.
Sorry, their gone.

Don't they screw in? If that's the case wouldn't be too hard to make some out of some appropriately sized bolts?

They are closer to a shoulder bolt. 1/2" dia pin and 1/4-20 thread. I would prefer the correct part but I've already made a set just in case.

I threw mine away the first time i took the top off on my first k5. Are they really needed? Since they were behind interior panels to uninstall/reinstall i never bothered, since you have all the screws on bed and cab back. Never had any issues for years run that way (even with only handfull of bolts holding top on)

I guess if dont plan to take top off ‘regularly’ nice to have

I would not considered them a requirement, but they make dropping the top on with the correct alignment much faster.

They are very easy to make. Also, my threads for the alignment pins where shot. I made the pins and used a 3/8"nutsert for the treads. Also works as a stopper. To shape then I used Por15 2-part epoxy putty.

The pin actually has a nut in the bottom from the factory in addition to threading into the sheetmetal lightly.

Yes, I'm aware of that. For me, what I did works just fine. What I like about my setup is you can easily remove the pin when the top is off.

Why not turn a set out of a recycled brass bolt, or piece of stock?

I don't have a lathe handy to make things on the fly but I may make something nice next time I pull the top next year.

I have located one stud/bolt, still searching for the other. Worst case, I have one you can have.

Have lathe... Operator died... Selling off Machines
What kind of machines you have and what price are you thinking? I'm in need of some machines for my shop...

And if push come to shove and I when get my shop set I was a repair and overhaul machinist so I can make alot of the little hard to get widgets
