ok so since i put a 1991 center bolt valve covers on... my wires lay on the motor/exhaust.. i want to get something that will keep them away.. i want to do it right and not zip tie.. unless that is right..

looking for recommendations...

I will have to take a picture of my buddies zip tie job. He wraps one zip tie around all the wires he wants to organize and then wraps a zip tie in between the wires and around the first zip tie and then tighens everything up. Best looking plug wires I've ever seen and it was a zip tie job. Google it and see if you can find what I am talking about because I won't see that guy for at least a month. I will google it later if you can't find it but I gotsta get off the interweb and head home for dinner.

x2

This is how I do all of my plug wires. Bonus points if you get all of the zip ties facing the same direction.

i use clips as shown in that link but the clips are stand alone dont have that thing that they are on in the picture. Came with the truck, I had a really cool PO :D

made for you products are the bee's knee's when it comes to plug wire seperators imo... under $50....

x4. not every time, but regularly

Just watch out for crossfire.

so mr gasket, bees knees, zip ties... they are the 3 recomendations...

zip ties sound good...

mr gasket looks good,...

will bees knees work with center bolt valve covers?

the made for you ones are designed for center bolt covers... you can see the bolts in the pic...

$45? I bought a set of plastic ones from my local car parts store for $5. That's $40 left over for other parts. Or beer!

i have always lived on that thought.. and guess what.. i am now just about fixing all the blunders that cheapness has done... it has all caught up to me.. and now i do everything better the first time....

personally yeah $40 left over for beer.. but that is only a case of beer... so ill buy the case of beer and the nicer kit that will work better...

now i also know that there is overkill... if a $5 part will do the job from now till i die... cool.... but I have bought cheap items and had to replace them a few times.. so now the cheapo part really isnt that cheap...

prime example... i have el cheapo blue toggle switches... got on clearance when ABC Autoparts was bought out by Autozone...

and yeah i still have them.. they are push through.. drill a hole and they kinda click in... work great...

however recently bought conturas.... alot more expensive...
bought the switches, rockers, wire connectors, wiring block, housing to allow multiples and even the tool to remove the rocker...

all in all.. the old blue would work great.. but went with waterproof quality instead...

now doesnt that look better than the blue ones? i know they will hold up better too...

so i know of a local speed shop... going to go look at the mr gasket kit if they have it in stock.... :waytogo:

I'm happy with the ones I got from Summit built by R&M. Mine are perimeter bolt, but they make centerbolt one's as well.

just throwing the quality component in the mix..... :wink1:

not unheard of to do everything you can to protect, what these days may be, a $100 set of MSD wires...
