Ok so i just bought msd spark plug wires.. a make it yourself kit...
i didnt realize they were that as on their site it showed them as all together..

anywho... i dont have crimpers.. these are 8.5mm also...

so what tool to get?
buy or rent from autozone or pepboys?? do they rent it??
they are expensive...

so choice so far is
ACCEL 300+ Pro or MSD 35051
then the question is do they come with the actual crimp for a 8.5mm???

hmmm here it says msd comes with crimp/strip jaws for MSD’s 8.5mm Dual Crimp Terminals.

but $80!!!!! boy this is an expensive wire change!!!!!!!

That looks like it would work, but it says fits 8 or 9MM. Hothing about 8,5.

I have had several BUild your own plug wire sets from MSD. I like them cause I can get the wire length just like I want it. Anyhow every set I have ever bought came with a crimping tool. The early sets were alum stock. The later ones were plastic. They are two pieces. They have a gauge for stripping on one side. The interior is for crimping. You are supposed to use it in a vise.

This is the early one:

my msd's came with a block crimper that you put everything in and clamp down on with a vice or large channies. works great. but realy if you look at the directions pliers and a screwdirver will do it

i have a 1/2 dozen of the vise style ones.... work fine.. and yeah, they all came with sets i bought..... one day i'll pony up and buy nice crimpers... i never make up wires for work, only personal stuff...

ok im a dummy - now that is out of the way

when i was in line.. some guy looked over and said... oh do you have the tool for those.. it makes them easier..

so i bent the box a bit and out came a plug with no boot...

well i just opened the box... DOH!!!!!!!!!! only the coil wire needs to be made :haha:
