It seems that my spedo is very figity when driving with my foot and holding a steady speed, but when I put on the cruze it seems pretty steady. Anyone with suggestions??

No really the best thing you could probably do is to take the cable out and put some graphite or something in it to lubricate it. As long as its not frayed or anything it should help.

Might be a kinked/bent cable. That happened to mine when it was. I would try replacing the cable, theyre cheap anyway ~$20-$30 new ACDelco. Even cheaper in store brand like motormite.
