Is there only one we use? Part # CR#99282

Gear oil all over brake shoes and when pulled axle shaft out fluid came out.

Maybe when I installed new bearings and seals I did something wrong? Can anyone give refresher course on doing it correctly?

Last ? the cage looking thing that is between the 2 special nut's you have to remove to get drums off where can I new ones or a better setup?

Thanks guy's!

I was underwhelmed by the speedi sleeve, and switched to the two-part seal recommended by ORD. It's for a later-model 14BFF but fits ours just fine. SKF #28554.

For the spindle nut lock, look at Dorman 615-132 (nut), 615-140 (key) and 615-141 (retainer spring, goes on the spindle threads and keeps the key from walking out.) This is a one-piece deal which is easier to lock than the two nuts plus the flat thing with the nib on it that always gets munged.

When you installed the sleeve did you use Loctite as recommended?

X2 on the different seal. Way better option after my speedo sleeve went bad eventually.

The seal race on my 14 bolt was pitted pretty bad, so I smeared alittle rtv on the spindle before putting the 2 piece seal on. 6 months now and not a drop, was pouring before.

Another vote for the newer seal vs. the speedisleeve. Had one on there, it started leaking again after a few years of mostly just sitting, very few miles. Pulled it and replaced with a new seal. Problem solved.

got stuff on order. Lucky I have a friend that gives me discounts at advance auto parts.

Brake shoes will be here by Tuesday, other part tomorrow or Saturday. Got the K5 sitting on jack stands torn apart all parts bagged and labeled and taking drums to try to turn monsters tomorrow at work.

That's an aftermarket solid spacer that goes between the bearings. With this set up you assemble everything and torque / lock the nut and walk away, no need for the torque / back off sequence to set the preload on the bearings.

These are pretty sweet, never seen these before.

I'll add another vote for the 2 piece seal. ive got a rear that the spindle nut failed on and the hub walked off the spindle and marred up the seal surface pretty bad. Never would seal after that, figured id have to swap axles or replace spindle. Tried the 2 piece seal as a last resort and it hasn't leaked in 3 years.
