Hey I am trying to get the spindle nut out of my 14ff. Tried a breaker bar, then tried an impact wrench. ****s not moving, is it just on that good, or is it reverse thread or something? I dont want to damage it so Im not going over board on it until I make sure it is not reverse thread. Help!

The tabs will bend out of the way if you hit it with an impact - and no it is not left hand thread

You might have the later style that uses a square woodruff key that is held into place with a small wire clip around the spindle thread.

Does the nut have cutouts on the ID of the nut?

I removed the clip, I see the small woodruff thing, i was tryin to pry that thing out just now with no luck, however it moves freely from side to side, does not appear to be stuck. Any suggestions? or little tricks?

You might need to somehow move the spindle nut slightly in either direction in order to remove the woodruff key. I've had mine apart several times and i just pull the clip and use a magnet to get the key out.

Done, got them off, going to install the disc brakes in the morning when its light out. Thanks once again guys!

So was it just a matter of getting the spindle nut to move slightly so you could remove the woodruff key?

It was more a matter of I am a jackass, and never saw the woodruff key. I was following along on an instructional web site, and all it said was "remove spindle nut". And it showed them putting the socket up to it and taking it off.. So thats what I tried:-) Does not help matters that it was dark outside either:-)
