Why would you use D60 spindle bearings and seals on a D44?Haven't looked in to ball joints yet. But this seems like a good price.

I must be crazy too because I swear it was for a 44. I almost said the same thing as you. Maybe it was a different post? Why would you use D60 spindle bearings and seals on a D44?![]()
Because your profile says you have a D44.Umm
They're for a D60, not a 44. I'm not sure how a 44 got in the coversation![]()
I was wondering if that's where it started. I also have a '91 with tons. The 60 has a broken shaft. I got me some fresh chromolys and I'm gearing up to replace. That's why I am here hijacking this thread. I thought it was a good place to ask questions on top of being a little scared of messing with the spindle nut due to the original poster. I have a good torque wrench on the way as we read and when it arrives I'll be ready to face my fears.Because your profile says you have a D44.
When you get ready to put the spindle nuts on with the washer, put the washer on lined up in the key lock channel on the spindle and move the washer left to right. See if it’s a good tight fit against the channel. Sometimes the washers are not machined properly and don’t have enough of a knub on them to stay in the groove with so much torque. If your washer fits a little sloppy, I would suggest getting a new one and see if it fits any tighter in the key lockI was wondering if that's where it started. I also have a '91 with tons. Alright Mr. @rampageIf you’re tearing the axle that far apart MAW change the spindle bearings and ball joints if they haven’t been done recently.
Oh, yeahIdk. Thought you had a D44 when I said that. Shouldn’t your D60 have king pins?

Funny guy.Oh, yeah![]()
