!@#$ Spring bolt.. how in the hell do you get it out HELP FAST PLEASE

[ QUOTE ]
Sawzall is useless on those bolts...use a grinder with a cut off disc. Get the disc up between the spring and the INSIDE of the hanger...just cutting off the head of the bolt won't help you.

I actually used a sawzall but I had good brand fine tooth high count blades, and then I recently found those blades that are carbide dipped and they work like a charm.
And by the way, the bolt isn't that hard, it's the sleeve.
I had the same problem at first.
/forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif will work for you.
/forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif will also work but I like the /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif better in those tight spots.

It took 4 blades and a lot of crying but a sawzall will work

...and try not to breathe the smoke from the bushings.

i did th torch aproach and it worked like a charm burnt the snot out of the old bushing it took a while but it did the job then took a bfh and another grade 8 bolt and pounded it out what a pain in the ass those bolts are /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif poly bushings now havent had any problems getting those out

IF you got it to move an inch, it should be on it's way. I took mine out that were rusted in with a BFH and a BF Punch...Worked well. Didn't have to cut anything. Also when I reinstalled them I coated them with "Antiseize" to prevent that problem if/when I change again. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

i had the same problem getting mine out this weekend.
i tried the BFH, a ball joint press, and finally when i just decided to take out the shackle with it, i tried my 20 ton press on it also, only thing that did was make a mushroom out of the end of the bolt.
i finally cut them out with a good sawzall blade, 2 minutes on each side of the bolt and the spring fell to the ground.
it took longer doing it with the fizz wheel.
