Spring length?

To get my spring length do I check along the curve of the spring, or do I go directly fom eye to eye with no load on it?

Also, because I can be lazy sometimes, what length spring is on the rear of a '73 'burb?

Is it from eye center to eye center?

center of eye to center of eye along the curve.

on a burb they had either 52 and 56's

56 are more common on the 3/4 tons
