I have been reading everything i can about the death wobble in these D 60s. I have seen on here several times that a company called Ballistic Fab is making steering arms the delete the springs. But i have also found several posts about how they suck at customer service, and rip people off. Does any one else sell these arms? Seems to make a lot of sense to eliminate any and all freeplay to keep the DW Demons away. Mine is so bad i don't dare drive it around the block and i've got a trailride in moab coming up fast! Thanks in advance

It all but amazes me that Ballistic hasn't been shut down by the BBB from the stories I read on Pirate about them charging credit cards and not delivering, etc.

I will never run another type of steering arm after having springless. It's the way they should have been designed from the factory in my opinion.

Back when I was shopping for mine a couple years ago, these are the ones I'm pretty sure I remember:
Parts Mike (I think they used shims instead of a set screw, hopefully updated now)
WFO
Northwest Fab

I know there are some vendors out there making custom-cut ones that are whatever length you want to match your pitman arm. They are all very competitively priced from what I've seen.

Got mine from off road design, shipped when they said they would. Plus supports one of the few vendors that support our trucks.

I would suggest ORD... I like NWF's arm's better, but have had questionable customer service from them in the past...

I just got mine from WFO about 3 weeks ago. I called to order and they had great customer service. I ordered on a wednesday at 4:45pm and i recieved them on Friday. Great quality and no more death wobble! :D

I only have one on the passengerside arm right now but I got mine from northwest fab didn't have any problems when I ordered threw them. Even had a problem with the shipping company damaging the box and losing parts. Northwest fab took care of it very quickly.

I have the Ballistic springless arm and cap for the drivers side. I ordered them while in Iraq, had them shipped home, so I have no idea how long it took for them to arrive. Other than that, no issues with Ballistic.

The spring-less arms are definitely a step up in death wobble prevention. Look into getting a set of the bronze kingpin bushings too.

Also, depending on how tall your truck is, the drag link angle might need some attention. If it's too steep, it'll add to the death wobble/bump steer issues. You want the line from the passenger side end of the drag link to it's attachment point on the pitman arm as level is possible. My truck has 8" springs up front and draglink angle was horrible. Chatted with Stephen Watson at KOH, who pointed that out to me as the probable cause of my dw/bump steer issues. I chose to actually lower my steering box on the frame by about 4" to correct the angle issue.

Make sure all drag link/tie rod ends aren't worn out. Also, be sure to check out your wheel bearings. If they're loose, it can contribute to death wobble. The stock D60 hub nut system could use some improvement...I've always had issues with them not locking like intended, or the little tit on the inner washer being busted off. I picked up a set of the Stage 8 locking spindle nuts while at KOH. Expensive at $79 a side, but they'll never loosen.

Poor man's solution is to get a locknut setup from a second-gen+ 14 bolt rear. It's just a thick locknut with a woodruff key, and a circle clip to retain that key by clipping in to the spindle threads. Not as good as the Stage-8 setup, but it's way more secure and much easier to work with than the original Dana setup.

I just picked up a set of Artec arms, adjustable springless and they tie into the stock tie rod hole when running full hydro or hi-steer..

I'm running parts mike hi steer arms, springless is awesome and customer service was awesome too. When I hit the lottery and go coil over AND 4 LINK I'll be switching to a dual shear from Summit machine, not cheap but super strong and super sexy:waytogo:

Like I said give wfo a chance too if you're shopping around.

We can build our arms like that, same price as our normal ones.
Put them on your website !!!!!. I bought your crossover kit in the last couple of months and would have taken the springless arms. Bet you'd sell many of them if we knew about them.
