I dont like flatties, hard to keep stuff inside.
i agree thats what my towrig is for. reason for this, my box isnt that great of a shape, thats why im thinking of goin flatbed. but would like to see the poll result and that will help me decide, and hear some comments.

Are u wheelin this thing? If so, that bed is only going to hold you back, ditch it.

keep the bed while it's still functional or not an eyesore. Likely it will get trashed when wheelin hard, then flat deck.
That's my plan anyway.

im suprised to see most of you guys are sayin leave the box on:eek1: i thought this was all abt flatbedin the truck, tube it, etc. :p:

If you flat bed it, I think you would need to shorten it. Otherwise, leave the bed. Real men leave it LONG...

I haul a lot of stuff. But ifin mine gets any worse i will flat bed it cause i got the junk in the yard to do it. Ifin i find a good short box i would just swap it. I wish i could find another step side like my last truck though. Nothin like being able to step in the back and hook up a line to be pulled out that easy.

I went round and round in my mind about this with my 80k20 and decided to leave the bed but cut the lower portion for clearance and rust removal. I'm planning on ditching the saddle tanks tho, might look funny otherwise. now need to boatside cab so i have a nice high bodyline all the way down the truck

leave box on and half flat bed it i seen a truck in camo that cut away half the bed side strating at the fender well. i try to find my pic of it later

I say flat bed it but that's just IMO. I'm giong with the lfattie on mine too but gonna make stake pockets for wood sides to keep lose **** from flying out. Still able to haul stuff. People haul wood and junk on flatbeds all the time
