Is it just me or are most of us plagued with the squeeking belts (steering). Just damn embarassing. It will even squeek just idling sometimes... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

tighten belts, pump fluid, etc. Is this normal. I am talking about stock setups only (steering box & pump)no steering rams etc.

Replace the belts!!! They are CHEAP..one a belt squeaks once, it starts to glaze over and will only get worse and worse...And when you take the belt off, run some #180 sandpaper in the pulleys to remove any glaze on them...

even if a belt looks good, replace it...That is one thing ilike about serpintine on my 454, it never squeaks...

Not to hijack your post but just noticed today. I think my fan clutch is bad so it may be problem. Whenever I hit the gas, i get a squeel and it lasts until i let off the gas, or atleast back off to a sane level. Its comin from the front of the motor, any ideas? Does a fan clutch gone bad squeel as it tries to unlock?
