Squirrel, the 1977 Wagoneer

A 4500 car should have woodgrain trim.
It runs. It's obnoxiously loud, and the person that wired it should have a sample of their brain tissue examined.

I'm part of the FiTech club for at least a little while. It has the 400HP four barrel on it, and cracks right off. It needs a starter, and it running off one of my older Odysseys.

This is the new warehouse for off-site parts and vehicle storage, so the suburban and waggy can be in the dry just about all the time.

I think this will turn out to be one of my better bad ideas.

As I was looking at the pics, I kinda thought you were talking about the paint job.
It's generous to consider that a paint job. Short term, nothing changes. Long term, I do not like cheap bedliner as paint, but at least it has the good manners to peel and flake.

I need an offsite parts and vehicle storage warehouse. I ain’t got no room.
This is what my wife says. I went from having two cars - the suburban and the charger - to four, with the waggy and LB7 rounding out the fleet. Staying married required finding room for all this garbage, as our little 1/8 acre in the city was on the path to looking like the lowest budget car lot in town. Also, the waggy has no roof.

Lots of room for more projects!
I'm keeping my hoarder muscle in check, but it'll be a challenge.

Ah, nothing like an extra space for working on stuff. Especially indoors.
So true. I'm pulling the 4L80 for a check at Greg's before the next large trip, and it will be nice not having to tie up the driveway or shop.

I thought I was the only weird one to want to send a perfectly good working transmission back for a check/ refresh.

Squirrel getting some care and feeding.

My dad had a 79 waggy, so he's tickled to turn some wrenches on this one.

Other people's wiring. Not safe, reliable, and really hard to trace. Some wires change colors a few times. There were red grounds. But, it did run for a few minutes from Kris' garage to the Willomet OP. I ordered a spare distributor, plugs, wires, hoses, belts, thermostat, and a goofy transfer case fluid.

Kris has the knack for harness building. The whole truck is going to run on a Switch Pro SP9100. Simple, effective, and no frills except for the heater. I stole the unit off the suburban, and he's a little over half done getting it sorted and ready to fire. The suburban will get a new 12 switch panel.

The rear drums are adjusted, and Powerstop is sending a fresh set of pads for the front. The rotors have deep grooves, but that's a later problem.

Everything turns smoothly with no grinding. Next up is tires, a muffler, try to get the 400 to stop leaking out the back end, and give it another run around the block.

I pulled about that much wire out of the dash of a dodge truck once and none of it was hooked to anything….amazing what people can do to a vehicle

Amazing it hasn’t had bigger problems (like a fire) before.

Tribe has it for some last little details. Tires, mystery trans leak, and small stuff.

All this, as I unfortunately type this message from the DCA airport.

It’s a long par 5 to our nation’s capital.

Gave it a fresh starter, but it’s still a big sluggish. I’ll triple check all the connections. I wonder if there’s marginal contact in the solenoid.

Meanwhile, all this now works, reliably.

I also fixed a seized lug/stud, the rear brakes need adjusting, still needs a top, and the filler foams quickly and shuts off the pump.

It’s a hoot to drive.
