Man, these guys kick a$$!!!

I just noticed a "press release" on their site that mentioned they offer a cheaper 2-Speed version of their Monster Box (the $2800 3-speed case)

You can get it with your choice of either a 3.75:1, 4.33:1, or 5.44:1 gear, and the price is almost $1000 less than their flagship model at $1899.

Oh yes, and they now have the 32-Spline inputs available too.

I just need to figure out how to bolt my WMS 3:1 203 Rangebox to the front of one of these and I'll be stylin' :thumb:

32 spline front output is standard equipment too(where as its an option on the Atlas). I hope to see the Atlas come down in price now. Would be nice to see a small price war :wink1:

still waiting for stak to annouce their own klune-type add on as a counter to the 4-speed Atlas. Can you say 6 speed Stak? w00t!

They said when Stak came out with the 3 speed, Atlas made a point of rubbing it in their faces that they had a 4 speed case. Prompted the discussion that Stak should make the 6 speed case and leave AA 2 speeds behind, haha. I don't AA by the way, I just love to see competition that leads to improvements in our sport.

The 27 spline is what the STAK first came out with.....now they also offer the 32.

You might be all set.

As for a 6-speed box....I'd find it hard to believe there are really 6 discreet ratios that are ALL useful in some offroad situation. For bragging rights I guess it has some merit, but I certainly wouldn't want to pay the premium price just for THAT.

That's what I like about the 2-speed box. It's cheaper and I can pick the ONE reduction gear that I really want and save $1000.

quote from stak
The Monster Box is available for any transmission that has a 23 spline output.

i'm assuming the same goes for the 2 speed case.

My bad.....it is 23. I guess my reading comprehension isn't what it used to be.

:dunno:

is anyone here using one of these? never heard of them before. and when might "soon" be? i'm looking at atlas cuz i need 32 spline input gear

I know Sean Personally (the "S" in StaK)and everything they do is overkill even for full sizes. i wouldnt hesitate for a second to get one (ive even thought of selling the doubler and getting the 3 speed, but the cost of redoing shafts is the killer (for me anyway) I dont think anyone should second guess these cases, especially for the price.

What I like most about these guys is that they are normal joe shmoe wheelers like all of us and thay had an idea and went for it. any staranger could walk up to them on the trail and ask ?'s and youll be talking to them for hours.

yeppers, I don't necesarily dislike AA... but one has to admit it was pretty freakin' lame how they showed up at the show where Stak was introducing their 3 speed and proceeded to talk about their new 4 speed that was coming the next year. I'm sorry, but thats just low rent. It was so transparently obvious that they felt threatened by the 3 speed Stak so they just threw that 4 speed crap out there as a way to divert show attention from the cool new 3 speed. Lame. I'm going the old-fashioned doubler route... but if I was rich and in the market for a cool high end t-case, I'd be getting a Stak over an Atlas for sure.

I agree w/ Danny. Last time I was in El Paso (grew up there) I stopped by and met these guys... We had a blast chatting - and I was thoroughly impressed w/ the innerds of their product. Everything looks top notch and overdesigned....

Can someone explain the function of all the different levers on these beasts? Do they allow independent control of front and rear outputs, or is it just three gear sets in a row where you pick H/L/N?

What would it take to stick one of these behind my TH400 in my K30 (replace 208)? :wink1: Worst case I'm thinking: TH400 adapter, new crossmember, floor cutting for shifters and two new driveshafts. Is that right?
