Yes, I know that an upgrade and change out should be something to consider (FM100 or Racor). However, I want to keep my K5 as original as possible .. For me it a 40 year ownership since new and have worked hard to keep it factory original as much as possible.

Sooo... I am looking for one or two Stanadyne 80 Filter Bases to combine into one restored unit. My plans are to take one (or two) tear down for rebuilding and find the proper size o-rings for the rebuild .

I have the GM Parts List Numbers, but as we all know ... discontinued is a common theme ... so direct match up is the only way around.

I would like to hold off with restoring my base until I can get the parts needed. Thus if I should I have issues, I still have one that is working to some degree.

I know that the earlier units had the Restriction Switch (my 85 does) and the later ones did not. I would be interested in either base or one of each... or two of the older ones.

If you have one that works and not drawing air, that's a bonus. I suspect the Heater may be an issue, I just hope someone has one that they decided to upgrade when theirs was functioning properly.

If anyone has a stash of parts needed for these to rebuild, I would be interested in purchasing as well.

My zip code for shipping is 77701 .... PayPal or Zelle apps for payment.

Much Appreciated !!!

I have one or 2, possibly 3.
Condition unknown since I discard them before giving them the chance.
Let me dig them out and see what I got and then we'll talk.
I personally have been switching to the earlier spin on filter.
But now I have a couple of the later ones I am considering on the advice of @2INSANE

Well the newer style has all the things you have in the 80, but in a more leak proof system, easy enough to change the cartridge that is round.
I haven't used one yet but I do have 2 of them after parting a 92 and a 94

Thanks ... I looked earlier for a Model 80 only ... I did not search GM Part Numbers ... Extremely expensive ... Hopefully someone on the page will have something to sell ... but I did tag the item and put on my watch list.
I will get out to the shed when it cools down and check

Any fuel filtration system should work good for you as long as it has the water in fuel sensor, the fuel heater and the water separator.

The Tombstone Oem filter and base is great but is plagued with issues. There are too many rubber rings and fittings that cause leaks and suck air. Also changing the filter can get messy and cause hard starts if not done right, especially with a mechanical lift pump since it is harder to prime the air out of the lines after changing the Oem filter.

A 6.5 filter base would technically be an upgrade since it has fewer rubber pieces. All the electrical connectors fit with the old tombstone filter base so it is an easy install.

Next would be the fm100 or an air dog type fuel filter system.

The worse thing you could do is change it out with a basic spin on filter base that does not have the sensors and fuel heater. That would be a downgrade from Oem. lol!

Looks like imiceman44 has what you need! I would send him a pm for sure!

If not, Boyce Equipment will have them with very low miles.

I have a guy locally that is currently parting out a M1008 and I am sure he has one too! Let me know if you can’t get one and I can send his contact info.

Thanks to all .. @imiceman44 and @kennyw I am certainly interested in the these you mentioned ... please look at your supply when you have a minute and let me know which model you have (with or with out the restrictive switch). If they appear to be in good shape with all components, I will definitely purchase.

The Main thing is to be able to find the o-rings and reseal the units to keep from leaking and that the components work.

Again ... Thanks for the support and help.
