Started some tube work... Update 8-21-11

personally i think it'll be fine as is, not like he's running 40's.... I was just trying to give him a functional addition that would help strengthen too...

Oh, I understand that. I was just offering a simple solution if it does twist.

now, I'm curious tho about the bushing sets on a sideload like that..

Avery, how much up/down movement do you get when it's open? do you have to give it a little help up to get the latch end back in? I'm guessing with urethane, it's not moving much...

Yeah the poly bushings are pretty stiff. I just have to lift up a little on the tire to slip the latch side back between the tabs, maybe a 1/2" or so but its not hard.

I think most of my play is coming from the bolt/sleeve area. Its setup for a 9/16" bolt but even with a brand new bolt there's still some slop.
I'm going to run it and see how it holds up, worse case I have to go to bearings instead of bushings on the hinge side.

I forgot that you are a youth.

One of the cartoons in my day had an episode that had sky hooks. They hung from the sky to hang things on.

Did some more work on the k10 this weekend... figured it was time for some sliders before our trip labor day weekend. YES I realized after I got all cleaned up and inside to upload a couple pics that I missed a weld on that gusset. I'll fix it tomorrow after work. :)

It's official, I hate you. Out of pure jealousy, your cage is badass and your sliders, and your bed, and your spare carrier, and your suspension, and your truck in general! Seriously though, badass! Your a pretty good fab! I can see that skill coming to use  :deal:

easier to ask here then norcal..
are you gonna trim the fenders to match the sliders or did you run out of tube? lol

I left them there to give me room to grow. As long as I'm running 35's I'll leave them as is but I forsee a big jump in tire size once my front end is up to the task. So when that happens I'll trim them back to the sliders.
