I was under the truck tinkering and noticed the starter bracket on the end of the starter wasn't bolted to the starter. So, i was looking at it and it looks like it is held onto the starter by a nut that threads onto the end of the rod that runs through starter. Anyways i went to take the bracket all the way off (didn't really need to and don't know why i did) and i ended up breaking the head off the bolt
that goes into that "ear" tab thing on the engine. I think the engine anyway, im not sure i was to outraged to really look anymore. After that i threw the towel in for the night. I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else and what they did to fix it? I was thinking an easy out might work but theres not a whole lot of room to work. Not to long ago i put two new starter bolts in and i was wondering do i need that bracket?
It has lasted a while so far and if i keep my eyes on those two bolts to make sure the starter isnt going to fall out i think i might be alright. Need some opinions and options on how the fix the problem, if i need to fix it? Thanks
