Just had this happen steering started getting some play that my steering box came loose and then found that the tab closest to the steering wheel on the bottom broke off the box and it also looks like the frame broke on the top here all in toward the front and I already have steering brace frame has never been damaged or cracked prior the brace has been on it for a long time I also have Hydro assist steering ram I guess now I’m going to need a PSC box where’s a good place to get it
Thanks in advance

Picture of my PSC box. Happened a month ago. Need to get it sent back and see if they’ll warranty it. I’ve got the braces and plates.

I have blown the ears off of 2 boxes. Frame brace, plated, hydro assist with cantilever crossover. Hitting immovable objects at speed.

It's also easy to bottom out the fat part of the box on that weld on frame brace if the frame or the brace aren't just so

If I were shopping for a new box, I'd call Benchmark or Howe first

I’m not holding my breath. They said at best they’ll just put a new housing on it and send it back. Hopefully still cheaper than a brand new box.

i gave up on the outer scab plate- wouldn't fit well enough even after beating on it for a while. I welded the frame and put the brace on the back side, and the box fit back on the frame as it was supposed to. so far so good! (although ive been having a hard time keeping engines in it since then, so who knows)

Both steering box companies. Those would be my first two choices

Third would Blue Top

PSC and Red Top I would not recommend

Thanks
Do they have them already set up for the hydro assist ram
And why not PSC
PSC’s qc has turned to crap in the last several years. They also warrantied my box and 2 pumps. Neither of which work 100%
Search online, you’ll find more

As far as hydro, those other companies were offering that when I contacted them

Thank you

Not happy with fhe AGR box i have . And there parts & tech sucks . It all has to be sent in for a rebuild even if its a 5 dollar seal leaking . . .

The only drawback to the cap swap, is apparently theres a lag or pressure drop over the tapped box.

Having said that, lots of people have used that set up. So not sure who’s is noticing that difference, but I’ve heard it several times
