I spent the better part of 1:00am to 4:00am last night fighting the damn thing... is there a trick to lining up the bolts? I'm also trying to install the ORD steering brace, tis a bittch.

I actually got two bolts started, torqued one down, and when I went to torque the other one I kinda stripped the hole out although I was pretty damn sure it wasn't cross threaded.![]()
Don't tighten any of them until you have all 4 of them started.
Don't bolt the steering brace to the crossmember until after you snugged up the bolts on the gear box.

I did my box myself. It took a while but I was able to get it done. What I did was take three 2" long bolts and cut the heads off then cut a slot across the top so I could remove the "alinement studs" with a screwdriver. I screw the studs into my box and put my box on my frame. I didn't have the driver side tire on yet so I had plenty of room. The studs were long enough to hold the box without it falling to the ground. I pushed the box against the frame and moved it around till I got one bolt in. Then I remove a stud and replace it with a bolt one at a time and torque every thing down. This was the steering brace and a bent frame, so this method works (for me).
A word of advice. Torque every thing down again after a short drive because everything will loosen up. I was surprised how much everything loosens up on mine. All the u-bolts and the steering arm were loose. I still need to put to put a torque wench on the steering box though.

you must have missed my post, here's how to install a gear box...
