steering box

anyone got a part number for input shaft seal/steering box seal kit for a 2wd steering box?
and also maybe a write up? i removed the input shaft but napa/autozone and advance auto was clueless as to what i needed but my friends have told me they bought them from there before a whole seal kit.

EDELMANN # 8523 is the whole seal kit.

thanks. i remember seeing an article describing what to replace. anyone seen that? i might as well replace some of the o-rings while i got it apart if it comes with the kit.

All you needed was the seal kit number? Do you already have the shaft part no?

There are different part numbers based on the year of the box. The input shaft has two different sizes.

So if I was watching this thread and wanted to build my 1972 model year 4wd box to a 2wd box I'd need among other things the kit EDELMANN # 8523 and what shaft?
