Steering colume

How do i get to the steering coupling in the colume to tighten four bolts. I can get to two but not the others. Does the cover pull down.Do i need to remove it out of my truck?Thanks for any help.It's a 90 gmc.

there are two pins, one on each side that are pivot pins. You will need a special tool (or try to make one) in order to pull each pin out. Then the entire tilt part will come off and give you access to the other two bolts.
