Quickie for you

I have an 85 tilt column that's junk from the tilt base down. Can I pick up a non-tilt column and mount all my stuff to it?

here's my link

The outer tube is broken, but all the stuff from the tilt base (and torques bolts) to the steering wheel are good. Just wondering if I can grab Iceman's non-tilt '88 column.

hope no one minds me asking
but does anyone has a POS column they have laying around? Like I said, most everything from the tilt base up is new or good. I really only need the tube and maybe inner shifter tube. I wish I could find someones left over parts column, I can't see what I need being in much demand. There are a few people with complete columns to sell and those will be a last resort. Ugg, death by nickel and dime.

I have to agree with what ^^^^^he said. For the amount of work to swap everything over, you would be miles ahead to just swap in another column. You could swap the non-tilt column in, but you will lose the tilt feature. As long as both are automatic columns it doesn't make a difference to the truck whether they are tilt or non-tilt columns, everything on them outside of the tilt assembly is the same in similiar years.

I have a tilt column in good condition off a 88 suburban with two keys give me $80 im in los angeles
