Steering pump studs

Can you use a 2 mounting stud pump in place of a 1 stud by removing the extra stud and replacing with a bolt?

In a time bind, parts store has a 2 stud but I won't bother if it won't work

78 K5, 350, this is pump with res.

Yep. The stud/bolt could be 3/8" or 10mm, so watch out for that (yours is probably 3/8").

it almost seems like you might be able to leave the extra stud in there's really nothing behind it but nice to know if I can't I can swap a bolt in
