Unfortunately they can get slick when wet. My plans are to coat them with a textured paint or liner that will have some coarse grit to them, or use some of the adhesive tape that feels like rough sand paper. I still need to do some research on this. More than likely I'll use the bed liner type paint but not 100% sure.

OP: I have a set of Westin ones in black that the previous owner bought for my vehicle, 85 K5/CUCV, you're welcome to them if you pay shipping. May be crazy expensive to Canada even though I'm actually not far from you. They came with the truck and I don't intend to install them.

Not sure if mine have the mounts or other hardware with them.

FWIW...I have the same exact design/brand on my daily driver MDX and while I wouldn't say the step portion is ever slippery (even in snow or mud), it could use some extra grip, perhaps just hitting it with a palm sander and 60 grit might do the trick. Then again I rarely ever step on it, usually only to reach into the car to put groceries or packages in and get them out.

we do non-skid in gel, paint, etc.. basically your adding grit, he!! some guys just throw a handful of sand in... but griptape you could peel off and replace when worn, nonskid your reshooting...

Any idea how well that type of tape would stick to fresh, slick powder coat?

I just got my sliders from Diy4x. My fill plates have dimple dies, I almost asked to have the holes punched so the flared lip was on top for grip but I chickened out.

it would stick great... just make sure you degrease with some alcohol or thinner... and rub the edges in real good...

not that it's the right choice in this case, but I usually like expanded steel much better for foot grip.. wet diamond plate can be pretty slick...

As far as it being slippery when wet, it also depends on the type or brand of shoe you are wearing. I buy some fairly cheap tennis shoes so the traction can be terrible. But I've also got a good pair of shoes that don't slip at all.
I think I'm going to try that black anti-slip tape. It looks like it should work and for the price you really can't go wrong. Thanks for the info.

I have skateboard grip tape in strategic places. This is on the bumpers and the side steps. Adhesive backed and tough.
