Stereo install

They usually do. I beleive it was part of their radio install kit for the dash.

iirc, there should be room behind there....

How about over to the right a tad?

Thats looks good , do you have a bigger pic?

Ive seen radios mounted on the front of center console,

Good idea.

I don't mess with my stereo much while I'm moving so it's not like I'm flying down the road at 55mph with my head below the wheel staring at the display or anything.

My problem is adjusting the volume at 55.

I think Im going to just pull the a/c controls right on out since nothing works, and make another plate to cover the hole I dont use.I hot wired the fan to run on a switch anyway. It blows on high LOL .So we just run it for a min till its warm , then shut it off and it usually stays warm till we get where we are going.

I dunno, guess I don't have much of an issue with it. I do tend to look, figure where it is, place my hand there, and then push the button. Four quick looks when I'm not required to be maintaining my attention above the wheel and the volume, channel, or track is changed.

Same here, I need to find that plate now. That was the only problem I had with mine was that it looks like hell because it's all cracked and mounted crooked and there's glue seepage everywhere.

As for mounting it where the air vent is above the A/C controls, I dunno if that little spot is wide enough to fit a normal sized head unit.

Well the dash cover comes off real easy.So it wont be hard to pull it and take some measurements.Next time I'm bored with nothing important to do,I`ll do it.

Moving the stereo to the top vent on the dash is my next project, I hate the stock location and that vent doesn't move a whole lot of air imo. I'm also thinking I can put my CB radio where the factory radio was and have everything tucked up nice and neat.

thats a good idea.. my cb is hanging from the roof :D

Sweet. Thanks. BLIDVL, let me know how that works out for you, I would love to put it there, but I wanna know it will fit before I mess it up.

I put mine into the stock location as well. It sucked when I first put it in, with not beeing able to see it. ANd not knowing how everything worked. But now that I "know" my radio, I don't feel it being that bad there.

I've only heard of one person using it...not sure which forum either...and they said the speakers SUCKED.

I'd say that by just lookin at it but that's just me. I don't like buyin anything like that without hearing it first.

Oh and for the radio version you might look into some kind of big rig forum maybe?? I know our dumptrucks have theirs mounted up there

I went the Tuffyproducts console route. Running the wires was a lot of fun...yeehaw.

That's the route I'd like to go if I could find a good deal on a used Tuffy console. ;)

you can always replace the crappy speakers

w/radio up there too, you would drown before radio got water in it!

that tuffy console, is it waterproof w/ top closed?...i've had water up in my lap before, thats why my 4x's never have had hi-end radios in them!
