Pushed mine in like Mountain man said too. Works even better. Noticeably raked forward and still not perfectly up and down but I could see everything it was mounted on flexing as I pushed so I decided it was good enough for now.
I started having similar symptoms as others in this thread. Slow to pop up and then required persuasion after a while.
Bent the mech back but noticed there's slack in the cable and the roll pin is notched. I'll order a cable and put it on the list to do.
How have you guys been able to move he roll pin? My truck is rust free and the latch/hook look pristine. The roll pin will not move with moderate torque. I'm starting to mar the pin trying to get it to turn. Is there something I'm missing? I'll attach a pic of my cable slack because you know....pictures.
