Stock K5 (Jimmy) in Idaho

If everything is as nice as it looks and they say it's not bad. It all depends on location of course. Somewhere salty like Upstate NY that'd be a $6-8k vehicle. $4k is more than what I would spend. My Jimmy was nearly that good condition, one step down in a sense. But does need a motor. But for $1500 for the truck, 2k for motor I'd only be at $3500. And have a brand new motor.

I've always liked those wheels. Why is it a solid topper window? Being an 86, was the sliding windows an option?

Looks nice, since it's a dealer you should be able to get it for $3k... Hope it's not that junk computer controlled carb, my '86 pickup was a pain in the butt!!!

can you explain that. i have an 86 k5 that i haven't been able to get it to run right. new carb, plugs, wires, cap & rotor. no matter what she wants to fall on her face at full throttle. what computer?

i know this isn't the appropriate forum for this. . . thanks anyway

edit: not to mention new crate motor

In '86 they offered an optional computer controlled carb setup... I don't remember all the details anymore ( I've tried to forget that nightmare) but if I remember correctly it had the ability to adjust the fuel mixture and I think change the timing ( correct me if I'm wrong please). I unknowingly bought one of these bastard child pickups, and never successfully got it to run right. I even bit the bullet and took it to three different shops, had it rebuilt and even bought a rebuilt replacement( for a small fortune) and still noone could get it to work right. Finally tore all the crap off of it and just put an edelbrock intake and carb on it and never looked back... Sold it to a friend of mine and he's still driving it six years later.
The carb has some additional wires running to it, and there's an ECM up under the dash behind the glove box. I can't remember anymore, but I know it had a knock sensor and I think it might have had an oxygen sensor?

only drawback i see is the red interior. worst color interior gm ever made in my opinion. otherwise, crazy clean original rig. :thumb:

I don't think the "Sierra Classic" emblems at the rear are correct. I seem to recall those are '70's emblems...

It is pretty clean looking though.

I might be wrong then...I've just never seen those emblems on the newer K5's.

Most people probably break them off, or lose them or take them off. My Blazer didn't have any, but then again all the trim was off and it was primer grey rattle can. But all the holes for the badges and trim were still there.
